Different wards and clinics of Tabassom Complex

Early intervention section

In line with the objectives of assessment and early intervention, the center evaluates clients to accurately assess the hearing, speech and psychological status of the child and the psychological condition of his family.

After completing the initial assessments of speech, hearing and psychology, the clients receive a set of special services according to their age, speech status and type of hearing aid (hearing aid or cochlear implant).

These children, while receiving specialized services of speech therapy, listening training and psychology sessions, also participate in daily group meetings that are held with the presence of experienced and trained educators.

Hearing Assessment Clinic

Hearing is one of the five most important senses. We communicate with others through the sense of hearing by receiving sound and interpreting speech. However, the existence of a disorder in the auditory system can affect different aspects of a person’s life and even lead him/her to the abyss of isolation.

Audiometry is a painless, non-invasive test that measures a person’s ability to hear different sounds and different frequencies. There are different tests for hearing assessment that vary depending on different age groups.

In Tabassom Center, as one of the most equipped audiometry centers, all methods of hearing assessment, including electrophysiological hearing tests (ASSR, ABR, OAE, HearLab), tympanometry, PTA, etc. are performed.

Hearing Aid Clinic

A hearing aid is a device that delivers sounds louder and clearer to the user. The purpose of using a hearing aid is to make all the sounds of speech as comfortable and clear as possible.

The sound that the hearing aid microphone picks up is amplified by an amplifier and transmitted to the ear through a tube and mold. The mold must be placed exactly inside the ear to create the best sound quality. An initial template is used to build the original template.

Cochlear implant clinic

A cochlear implant is an electronic device that converts the mechanical energy of sound into electrical signals.

This prosthesis consists of two main parts: the inner part and the outer part

The internal components of the prosthesis are placed under the scalp and inside the cochlea during surgery with special surgical techniques. The main external components of this device include the following: Microphone and speech processor.

Tinnitus Clinic

Tinnitus is an internal sound often referred to as ringing in the ears. Tinnitus may be felt in a person’s ears or head without any real sound from an external source. This symptom occurs in different ways and each patient reports a specific experience of sound. Factors such as aging, hearing loss, exposure to loud noises, systemic diseases (hypertension, diabetes, kidney problems, anemia, etc.) can lead to the onset of tinnitus.

Although tinnitus is not a disease itself, it can lead to problems such as insomnia, stress, frustration, anxiety and speech impairment in patients.

Correct diagnosis and correct and effective treatment of tinnitus requires the close cooperation of various specialists. Evaluation and treatment of tinnitus is performed using specialized methods (neurofeedback, tDCS, CBT and intoxicating tinnitus) in Tabassom Complex.

Dizziness and balance clinic

All tests related to the balance system, including (VNG, EcochG, VEMP, vHIT) as well as the rehabilitation of peripheral and central lesions of the balance system are performed in Tabassom Complex.

Speech therapy clinic

Speech therapy is a branch of rehabilitation in which graduates of this field assess and treat language and speech problems in children and adults.

Some of the problems that are evaluated and treated by speech therapy (speech and language pathologist) include: language and speech problems due to hearing loss in hearing aids and cochlear implants, mental retardation and stroke, problems in sound production and pronunciation, Stuttering, voice problems related to the larynx, speech problems due to cleft lip and palate and communication disorders such as autism and Asperger’s, etc.

Psychology and counseling clinic

Psychology is the study of human behavior and mind. Topics such as body language, communication skills, self-confidence skills, assertiveness skills and many more are part of the basic framework discussed in psychology.

Psychology examines concepts such as perception, cognition, concentration, attention, emotion, motivation, mind function, personality, behavior, interpersonal relationships, family, and so on.

Counseling is a specialized process between clients and counselors through which clients, with the help of counselors, examine the problem and ways to solve it.
